BrokerCheck Report: Examining Customer Disputes Against Centaurus Financial, Inc. Broker Troy N. Tremblay

Troy N. Tremblay (CRD #4625407) of Centaurus Financial, Inc. (doing business as Tremblay Financial Services), has or has had three customer disputes, according to his BrokerCheck report.

In a settled dispute, allegations were made that between the years 2009 to 2017, Tremblay made unsuitable investments and misrepresentations regarding investments to both direct private placement (DPP) and limited partnership (LP) interests. The customer initially sought $200,000 in damages, and the case was ultimately settled for $60,000 in August of 2017.

A second dispute, filed in February of this year as a FINRA arbitration claim, alleges that the broker recommended an unsuitable, high-risk, and illiquid investment. This complaint remains pending, with the customer seeking $88,000 in damages.

Similarly, another pending dispute involves allegations that Tremblay recommended and misrepresented a high-risk, illiquid preferred stock investment and a fixed index annuity with high surrender charges. The customer in this instance is seeking $393,613 in damages.

We just wanted to say thanks for your work in helping us get back some of the money we lost. We are not by any means rich, but we have saved some money and we have done so through a tight-fisted approach to most everything we do. So losing a significant chunk of money hurt…especially at a time when everyone else was growing their accounts. We really appreciate the work you did.
