A Look at Broker Roy Williams’ BrokerCheck.

Broker Roy Williams (CRD# 1069297) is currently registered at KCD Financial, Inc. in Stratford, Connecticut and was formerly registered at Center Street Advisors. Inc. and Center Street Securities. Inc. in Nashville, Tennessee. Williams has or has had one regulatory event and nine customer disputes on his BrokerCheck.

In 2022 a FINRA arbitration was filed against Williams for recommending an unsuitable investment in or around 2018. The alleged damages were $42,000 and the case settled for $15,000 in 2023.

A customer dispute from 2020 alleges that Willams did not conduct sufficient due diligence which resulted in alleged damages of $100,000. This complaint settled in 2021 for $52,000. Another customer dispute from 2017 alleged that UDF REITs (real estate investment trusts) purchased by Willliams for a client in 2013 were unsuitable. The alleged damages were $100,000 and this dispute was settled in arbitration for $25,000.

In another settled customer dispute against Williams, the client alleged that the recommended investments that were illiquid and unsuitable. The alleged damages were $78,000 and the case settled for $47,500. 

A pending customer dispute alleges that Williams failed to comply with rules and obligations, failed to allocate the portfolio properly, was negligent, and breached his contractual duties related to sales in connection with “L Bonds” and a real estate investment trust (REIT).
